Wei Wuxian sighed as he looked at the clock. The hours seemed to just drag by. It didn’t help that his manager, and brother in everything except blood, liked yelling at him. Jiang Cheng could be a bit rough around the edges at times. Actually, most of the time. He tended to be strict and cranky, a trait learned from his mother. Wei Wuxian shivered remembering just how cruel the women was. He’d had far too many encounters with her punishing side and it wasn’t fun. Jiang Cheng was bordering on that level of cruelty, but no one quite met his mother’s breed of mean streak.

Wei Wuxian was bored out of his mind. Today was a slow day, the slowest he’d ever had. He was sure of it. Just as Wei Wuxian was about to ask Jiang Cheng if he could go home early, a customer came in. Wei Wuxian looked up to see a man wearing a white suite, which was an odd color for businessman to wear. He also had a light blue tie on. The part that made Wei Wuxian even more put off was the fact this man was wearing an expression like his goldfish died right in front of him. The man walked up to the counter, expression still hard.

“Welcome. What can I get you, sir?” Wei Wuxian asked, putting on a polite smile. It was taking everything in him not to poke fun at the man's choice of style or expression. He could always do that once the man left.

“Caramel latte,” the man said. Wei Wuxian typed it in and tried not to laugh. He never heard someone sound so monotone. Yet somehow the man’s voice was calming and attractive.

“Hot or iced?” Wei Wuxian asked, looking up at the man. He watched as the man thought for a moment, likely longer than anyone should.

“Iced,” the man answered, but sounded uncertain. Wei Wuxian punched it in and nodded his head.

“Would you like anything else?” Wei Wuxian asked and prayed that no he didn’t. The man only nodded his head and pulled out a piece of paper.

“Chocolate frozen drink,” the man answered. Wei Wuxian fought back the urge to laugh. He wondered if this guy was okay.

“Alright, anything else?” Wei Wuxian asked, not even bothering to try and correct him. He knew what the man was talking about anyways.

“Two lemon cake,” the man said and pointed toward the cake. Wei Wuxian punched it in.

“Will that complete your order?” Wei Wuxian asked. The man nodded his head and pulled out some cash. Wei Wuxian told him his total and went to grab the cakes. After he’d properly bagged the cakes he brought them over to the counter. He grabbed the money and gave the man his change back.

“What’s the name on your order?” Wei Wuxian asked. He didn’t really need a name, no one else was here, but Jiang Cheng had been on his ass about not getting names. Something about being organized, Wei Wuxian wasn’t listening.

“Lan Wangji,” the man answered. Wei Wuxian wrote that on the cups and started making the drinks. He was supposed to talk to the customers, but he wasn’t sure how easy Lan Wangji would be to talk to.

“So, you’re businessman?” Wei Wuxian asked as he waited for the latte to finish brewing. The man nodded his head.

“I’m a real estate agent,” Lan Wangji answered, picking up the bag with his cakes in it. Wei Wuxian nodded his head and finished the latte, handing it to Lan Wangji.

“Is it fun?” Wei Wuxian asked. Lan Wangji nodded his head and took a sip of his drink. His expression forever staying the same. Wei Wuxian never met someone capable of keeping the same expression for so long.

“Do you like it?” Lan Wangji asked. Wei Wuxian arched a brow in confusion. The other male picked up on the fact Wei Wuxian was confused and added. “Your job.”

“Yeah, it’s okay,” Wei Wuxian answered. He had other things he liked to do, but it wasn’t the worst. Working for Jiang Cheng could be a pain at times. He took after his mother in all the worst ways, but at the end of the day he enjoyed spending time with his brother. Lan Wangji only nodded his head and hummed as Wei Wuxian answered him.

“Alright, here’s your last drink.” Wei Wuxian said as he set the drink on the counter. Lan Wangji picked it up, muttering a small thank you and walked away. Once he was gone Wei Wuxian burst out laughing. He couldn’t believe how strange that man had been. Jiang Cheng walked to the front of the store, glaring when he saw Wei Wuxian doubled over laughing.

“What are you doing?” Jiang Cheng growled. Wei Wuxian straightened up, attempting to stop laughing. He had tears in his eyes from laughing so hard.

“You should have seen the guy who was just in here. Jiang Cheng, he kept the same face the whole time and used few words and when he did talk it was in this monotone voice.” Wei Wuxian burst out laughing again. Jiang Cheng only face palmed and shook his head. Wei Wuxian had a habit of being entertained and amused by the dumbest of things. It annoyed his brother to no end. Wei Wuxian struggled to take anything seriously.

“That’s great, get back to work,” Jiang Cheng grumbled, waving his hand. He walked back toward his office. Wei Wuxian puffed out his cheeks and stuck his tongue out. Why was Jiang Cheng such a crab apple most the time?

After two weeks of Lan Wangji coming in every day, he always ordered the same thing and came in at the same time. It seemed he was an organized man, something Wei Wuxian had to admire since he was fairly a bi-sexual mess. Organization was not a friend. That however, wasn’t the point. The point was Wei Wuxian had a crush on Lan Wangji and today was the day he’d shoot his shot. Jiang Cheng was in the back filing paperwork angrily, as he tended to do on a Friday evening. Actually, he filed paperwork angrily every day.

Lan Wangji walked up to the register and gave his usual grunt of an order. Mumbling it mostly, though Wei Wuxian already knew what he wanted. He punched in the order and started making it. Once he was done he wrote his number down on Wangji’s cup.

“Here you go.” Wei Wuxian said as he set the cup down on the counter. Wangji handed him the receipt.

“Keep it.” He said and grabbed up his drinks, walking out the door. Wei Wuxian crosses his fingers that Lan Wangji would see his number and call. He looked down at the receipt in his hand and smiled. Lan Wangji’s number and a little bunny was drawn on it.

It seemed that Wei Wuxian wasn’t the only one trying to be charming.
